What is inner peace?

Inner peace (or peace of mind) refers to a state of being mentallyor spiritually at peace, with enough knowledge and understanding to keep oneself strong in the face of discord or stress. Being "at peace" is considered by many to be healthy (homeostasis) and the opposite of being stressed or anxious. Peace of mind is generally associated with bliss and happiness.

Peace of mind, serenity, and calmness are descriptions of a disposition free from the effects of stress.

Do you need Me?
I am there.

You cannot see Me, yet I am the light you see by.
You cannot hear Me, yet I speak through your voice.

You cannot feel Me, yet I am the power at work in your hands. I am at work, though you do not understand My ways.

I am at work,though you do not recognize My works.I am not strange visions, I am not mysteries.

Only in absolute stillness, beyound self, can you know Me as I am, and then but as a feeling and a faith.

Yet I am there. yet I hear. Yet I answer.

When you need me, I am there.

Even if you deny Me, I am there. Even when you feel most alone, I am there. Even in your fears, I am there.

Even in your pain, I am there.

I am there when you pray and when you do not pray.

I am in you and you are in Me.

I am the law on which the movement of the stars and the growth of living cells are founded. I am the love that is the law's fulfilling.

I am assurance. I am peace. I am openness.

I am the law that you can live by.

I am the love that you can cling to.

A Poem for Survivors

In the landscape of the world there are multicolor facets of individual lives that touch each other in unexpected ways.

Do I dare reach out to another in an attempt to support, or close my eyes and wander to an unspecified agenda?

Something beckons me to the call of the forgotten; to those who have no voice or face.
Hence, I forge ahead, with deep emotions, abiding feelings, loving thoughts of survival, reaching my hand out to those that have no hope.

Will my hope increase their hope, as well as my own?

Who sent this faceless person to me? Is it for my sake or theirs?

Destiny beckons and I see through the worlds shadowy glass to the clear reality of the meaning of our encounter.

It is as it should be.

Pre-planned by a cosmic wave of energy that circulates the sky, invisible, yet very much felt.

Then, suddenly as if by chance, but actually by an organized force, we connect and your pain becomes mine, unable to separate ourselves, since we are one in the same with our Creator.

We are now dancing in a movement of the cosmic sea, whirling to the waves of emotions, as we try to touch upon a mutual understanding of trust and survival.

Then the most amazing thing erupts. The unseen solution emerges, as if from a tiny speck of thought, and we find the one thing that we were both looking for, which by name is hope.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust."

Psalm 91

When we choose to trust God as our Savior and to turn our will and our lives over to Him, we are lifted into "the secret place." Here, the love and protection of our God can continually enfold and support us. The problem comes when we use our "secret place" more like a temporary refuge than a permanent home. The psalmist uses the words dwells and shall abide for good reason. We cannot know the peace and serenity of God unless we communicate with him regularly through studying His Word and through prayer and meditation with Him.

TRUST IN GOD

The Lord is my light and salvation: whom do I fear? The Lord is my life's refuge; of whom am I afraid? When evil-doers come at me to devour my flesh, these my enemies and foes stumble and fall. Though an army encamp against me, my heart does not fear; Though war be waged against me, even then do I trust.

One thing I ask of the Lord; this I seek: To dwell in the Lord's house all the days of my life, to gaze on the Lord's beauty, to visit his temple. For God will hide me in his Shelter in time of trouble. Will conceal me in the cover of his tent; and set me high upon a rock. Even now my head is held high above my enemies on every side!I will offer in this tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and chant praise to the Lord.
